You would think camping would be free or just a few buck, but it seems that private campgrounds fees can be as much as half of the motel costs, without any of the comforts (but they DO come with such amenities as a picture-perfect sunrise 🙂 You may want to holler at some farmers and see if you can camp on their property, just tell them a little about your trip and promise them that you will leave no trace.

    I really wish we could have continued the trip with you, but at this point all I can do is wish you good luck and happy camping!

    By the way, the ride back was awesome. We were only on the interstates for maybe a total of two hours, the other nine or ten hours we spent on smooth, winding, and traffic-free roads through some of the most beautiful farmland surrounded by mountains of autumn foliage. We will meet you next year on your way back and hit up some more country roads together!
