  1. I ran over a squirrel on the way back 😦 He was chillin on the roda playing with his nuts, I slowed down and thought I had plenty of clearance, but at the last second he did one of those squirrel things where he does right and then left and then right again. At the last secong he just happened to bolt in the wrong direction and got “buelldozed”.

  2. Oh and by the way my HD-powered Buell has been pretty damn reliable so for, however it is still minty fresh with barely over 6k miles on it, but other than the front brake rotor getting some funny hot spots, it whas been reliable and super low maintanance. I would not change one thing about that bike other than the handlebars and hand controls, which seem to have come from a toy factory. I think my next addition to the stable will be an 800GS Beemer so I can hit the road and the trails with some luggage attached. Or at least a large displacement XR/KLR if the money is tight.

  3. Mike, I’m one of the guys out front having a beer that you told your LONG version of your story too. I have to say that I truly admire you for doing this trip and getting away from the everyday hum drum ways of life that are so easy to get trapped by. Want to wish you the best and to be safe, and when all this is over I hope you can write a book about this trip with many great photos of all the sites you have seen. I will surly be one of the first to buy one. God bless and have a great time! Mark Wilson

  5. Don’t worry about being a noob – it goes away. At least you got off the couch and started.

I have a couple friends with Uly’s, they love them but seem to go through rear bearings about once a year.
