About Mike

After trying my hand at more than twenty different types of employment, it became clear that the standard system of getting a job and sticking with it until retirement isn’t going to work for me. I’m going to step back and give myself some time to think about the best approach to my future and career opportunities that I can create. That’s where the motorcycle trip comes in. Since I’ve lived a bit of a stifled existence here in WV, I’m going to brake my mold, get out of my comfort zone, and open my mind to the land of opportunity that we Americans live in. A one year trip around the good ol USA on my trusty motor bike should do the trick.

  4. Thanks Richard. West Virginia has a ton of outdoor stuff to offer. This pic was taken at Weaverton cliff about 3 mile from my home town of Harpers Ferry. I’m looking forward to seeing some really big mountains for the first time though. Take care my friend.

    • Oh thanks for checking out my bike trip. I hope to expand my travels out of the country one day. I’ve been checking in on Lesley’s adventures when I have time and your post was a pleasant addition. Safe travels and have fun.

  6. Hello Mike, I just drove through your state earlier this morning. My wife and I live in South Dakota and I have just finished reading your book. Thought I would just give it a try on contacting you especially since driving through WV. Hope all is well with you these past five years that have elapsed since your big tour
