Mike’s Map

Green – already covered; Red – missed; Blue – still to see. This map is a work in progress and I will be adding more destinations as I cover most of the 50 states over the course of the next year.

  1. Howdy Mike,

My name is Matt and I just spoke to your (ex) girlfriend on the phone where she works, I’m a client of theirs, she told me what you’re doing and I think it’s awesome!! I’m sorta doing the same thing, I’m 43 and I sold my ranch in Wyoming and bought a big Dodge one ton truck and an weekend warrior rv and just took off. I’m single and I’m a software designer, so I work online. I can work wherever I can get a wi-fi signal. I like your site and I love the Google Map. I gotta get one of those for my site.

I gotcha bookmarked, keep up the cool pics and posts.

    Peace – Matt

    • That’s awesome Matt. I’m glad to hear from new people and especially people who go for it. Way to go man and thanks for checking out the site. I bet your ranch was beautiful and I cant wait to make it to Wyoming. Take care and be safe. MIke

    • That’s an awesome plan, Matt! Now that I’m married, an extended motorcycle trip such as this one is out of question, but tooling around US in an RV for a year or so would be something i could possibly talk my wife into. Hell I may even be able find and RV with room for a bike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49OfLHkAybs (and a trailer hitch rack for the wife) . Now i just got to get a job where I can work on the road :/ [picks up that dusty “Intro to Objective C” book]

      Blog followed!

  2. Sent you a PM but I will post it here as well.. have you tried http://www.couchsurfing.org/ and http://www.advrider.com those two websites will get you a ton of offers for places to crash. advrider is a HUGE forum..nearly 200k registered users, and your story/adventure will garner a ton of attention there. You REALLY need to crosspost your stuff over there.. just cut and paste and trust me you will see a ton of response.

    • Thanks for the advice Matt. I want to get going with couchsurfing whenever I can. Been traveling at such a rapid pace that I seldom stop to do more than check my blog and then I take off. I have a little something going on with advrider and also would like to do more with that when time allows. Kinda hard finding wi fi and time. Best of luck on your travels and be safe.

  3. Aloha Mike !

Just found/enjoyed the blog – sorry to hear you got took down in NOLA.

Noticed you mentioned Hawaii, well – I live on the windward coast of Oahu and have 3 motorcycles here, so – if you DO manage to get out here and want to ride, let me know. I have a spare room and don’t mind good people riding my Wee-Strom.

Best wishes & ride well – Dan

    • Hey Dan,
Man it would be awesome to check out your corner of Hawaii! I’ll have to keep in touch with you so I can take you up on the offer. Thanks for checking the blog out my friend. I’ll possibly see you soon. Take care.
      Mike
